Here are just some of the vascular and non-vascular services we offer at Desert Vein and Vascular Institute.
Varicose Vein Treatment — Bulging varicose veins aren’t just visually unappealing, they can be painful, cause swelling, and even become ulcerated. Dr. Rami uses radiofrequency ablation, sclerotherapy, and microphlebectomy to treat them.
Spider Vein Treatment — With our weather, no one likes to have to cover our legs to hide those squiggly red, blue, and purple clusters of surface veins otherwise known as spider veins. Dr. Rami quickly removes these nuisances with sclerotherapy.
Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) Treatment— PAD is narrowing or blockage of the arteries that results in poor blood flow to the arms and legs. This leads to cramping when walking or exercising. From medications to lower cholesterol to endovascular repairs such as stent placement, our goal is to return the blood flow to a normal level.
Uterine Fibroid Embolization — Uterine fibroids are benign tumors that arise from the muscular wall of the uterus. They can be quite painful and cause heavy menstrual bleeding. Dr. Rami uses uterine fibroid embolization to block the blood flow to these fibroids, causing them to shrink.
Prostate Artery Embolization — This is a minimally invasive treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia. Dr. Rami uses a catheter guided by fluoroscopy to deliver tiny particles to the enlarged prostate, causing it to shrink, relieving pressure on the urethra.
Deep Vein Thrombosis — When a blood clot forms in a leg vein, it can lead to swelling, pain, and color changes in the leg. It can also detach and travel to the lungs. Among the treatment options, Dr. Rami uses a catheter to deliver clot-dissolving medication directly into the clot.
Kyphooplasty Treatment — When a person has osteoporosis or has had an injury to the back, a compression fracture can occur in one of the vertebrae. Kyphoplasty or Vertobroplasty is a minimally invasive procedure where Dr. Rami injects bone cement directly into the injured vertebra. This can be an incredibly successful alternative to spinal surgery.
