Our Gastrointestinal Procedures in Peoria, Arizona

With more than 15 years experience practicing vascular and interventional medicine, Dr Rami is highly skilled in diagnosing and treating the following gastrointestinal disorders.

LIVER BIOPSIES

We check for abnormalities in liver tissue after a concern is found in blood or imaging tests. A liver biopsy can easily identify cirrhosis, hepatitis B or C, and even liver cancer. Biopsy results can be available in as little as a few days.

RADIOFREQUENCY ABLATION

Radiofrequency energy destroys cancer tumors in the liver. We also provide Enteric Feeding procedures such as Percutaneous Gastrostomy or Transgastric Jejunostomy. These outpatient procedures offer long-term nutritional care.

TRANSARTERIAL CHEMOEMBOLIZATION

Also known as TACE, this procedure uses a small catheter to deliver anticancer agents into blood vessels in order to block blood flow to the tumor and kill cancerous cells. Pinpoint accuracy decreases side effects.

PARACENTESIS

This procedure extracts excessive peritoneal fluid (ascites) in the abdomen. We use a paracentesis needle to collect the ascitic fluid for testing or relief of abdominal distension and discomfort. The procedure is pain free and can address respiratory difficulties or ascitic pain. Large-volume peritoneal drainage is also provided by using an indwelling peritoneal catheter.
